With Latte 0.10.4 indicators gained the ability to alter more properies for their parent icon:

At the same time it was given to them a way to specify their own icon animations for the following events:

You can use the Animated Dot Indicator github repo or the Animated Dot kde store page in order to understand how such indicators can implement these animations properly.

Take note that indicators that provide such animations need version 0.10.4 or greater in order to work correctly.
